Cagle Post: A Tale Of Two Heads of State

On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the United Nations General Assembly and vocalized many truths that President Obama simply refuses to. Netanyahu stated that “ISIS and Hamas are branches of the same poisonous tree. ISIS and Hamas share a fanatical creed, which they both seek to impose well beyond the territory under their control.” In addition, the Israeli Prime Minister pledged that the focus must not solely be eliminating ISIS but also not forgetting about Iran before they are able to create their own nuclear state.

Prime Minister Netanyahu also gravely warned against the consideration of allying with the Iran, which some leaders have hinted they would like to attempt. As reported by the New York Post, “Both the Islamic Republic [Iran] and the Islamic State plan to defeat democracies and replace them with an Islamic order, he noted, even comparing them to Nazis, who ‘believed in a master race,’ just as ‘the militant Islamists believe in a master faith.’” Siding with Iran is siding with the enemy.

The contrasts between the way Benjamin Netanyahu and Barack Obama deal with terrorist threats are shocking. Obama has simply refused to believe that the United States is at war with radical Islam and he has placed our nation on its weakest footing to-date. InSunday night’s much-maligned interview with 60 Minutes, Obama squarely placed the blame for the underestimation of ISIS’ power on the Director of National Intelligence James Clapper stating, “Our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that, I think, they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria.” The amount of times this president has used the “it’s not my fault it’s theirs” card is frightening. Unlike Benjamin Netanyahu, Obama is simply more focused on politics rather than admitting mistakes and finding sound solutions.
