Last WWI Veteran Fades Away
The last known American veteran of the “Great War” passed away over the weekend. Frank W. Buckles lied his way into the army at the age of 16 to serve his country during WWI. Mr. Buckles once said of America, “If your country needs you, you should be right there, that is the way I felt when I was young, and that’s the way I feel today.” Mr. Buckles exemplified the American spirit that makes this country so great. May he rest in eternal peace.
