New York Times: Huckabee Gets Star Treatment on Return to Iowa

Four of the Republican presidential candidates gathered here on Wednesday evening to speak at a forum for opponents of abortion, but it was clear who the star attraction was.

That would be Mike Huckabee, the Fox News personality and former Arkansas governor who was on hand for the screening of a new documentary he narrates, “The Gift of Life With Governor Mike Huckabee.”

When he stepped on stage to introduce the film, he brought most of the 1,200-person crowd to its feet. And after the screening, hundreds of devoted followers crammed into a reception hall in Hoyt Sherman Place, a post-Civil War architectural gem on the edge of downtown, to snap pictures with him and ask the question that still nags at many Iowans: “Why aren’t you running?”
