Please Help Memorialize Medal Of Honor Winner Master Sergeant Homer L. Wise
Master Sergeant Homer L. Wise is an American hero who you probably have never heard of. During World War II Sergeant Wise fought gallantly in the European theater earning the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, three Purple Hearts and ten other decorations. Having gone above and beyond the call of duty on many occasions, and saving many of his comrades, Sergeant Wise was awarded the highest honor for bravery by our Armed Forces – The Medal of Honor.
With all of these honors you would think Sergeant Wise would have received a lot of media attention after the war. But as a humble warrior, Sergeant Wise shunned media attention and did not speak much of his war time career. He did not even mention that he received The Medal of Honor publicly for nearly twenty-five years. Sergeant Wise epitomized what it means to be a part of the “Greatest Generation.”
A core group of citizens from Stamford, Connecticut – Sergeant Wise’s adoptive hometown – are volunteering their time to erect a statue in honor of one of World War II greatest soldiers. I ask you today to please give $25, $50, $100 or an even greater amount to this worthy cause. Future generations need to know this great story of the great soldier Master Sergeant Homer L. Wise.
