Politico: Campaign 2012: A race to the bottom?

On a national level, President Obama and his team bear more responsibility for the small-mindedness of the campaign. Obama has such an awful record to run on, they have no choice but to go negative. It should not come as a surprise that the Obama team runs a petty, in-the-gutter campaign – after all it’s the Chicago way.
