Politico: Will Obama’s proposed “Buffett tax” fly with voters?

Back in 2009, President Obama himself said that you do not raise taxes when the country is in a recession. Fast forward to today and President Obama is proposing $1.5 trillion in new tax hikes. President Obama is looking at his reelection chances slipping away and wants to play the old liberal game of class warfare with the “Buffett tax.”

His proposals will only make our economy worse and will not lead to new job growth. To rely on cutting the deficit by raising taxes just does not make any sense when America has 9.1 percent unemployment. It seems that the White House is only trying to appease its liberal base with this proposal.
