Real Clear Politics: For RNC, Implementing Reforms Is No Easy Task

Fresh off of his scathing CPAC speech that pinned the GOP’s recent losses on efforts to moderate the party’s message, Citizens United President David Bossie said that the proposals to limit primary debates “smack of the establishment trying to control the nominee.”

“The last couple of nominees should really make people nervous about the establishment producing another John McCain or a Mitt Romney, so we need the grassroots to have the opportunity to have more time, not less, to vet the potential nominee,” Bossie said. “We need more time, not less, to have the conservative grassroots rise up to support candidates who have a conservative vision but don’t necessarily have the money and need a little more time” to raise it.
