Bigger and Bigger Deficits
More bad news shows the fiscal well-being of America is steadily on the decline. The government reported that May’s budget deficit was $125 billion. This catastrophic number is more than double the amount for the month of May just last year. At a time when the financial stability of our economy is delicate and the potential for another economic breakdown is looming, we still find our government digging taxpayers into a deeper and deeper financial abyss.
So far this fiscal year the government has racked up over $844 billion in deficits, with last year’s total deficit weighing in at a hefty $1.296 trillion. With these figures in mind, when do you think Senate Democrats will actually pass a fiscally sound budget?
