Cagle Post: Insurance Cancellation Letters, Courtesy of Obamacare
“If you’re one of the more than 250 million Americans who already have health insurance, you will keep your health insurance.”
That is what President Barack Obama said on June 28, 2012 during a speech at the White House. It was a line that he repeated frequently on the campaign trail, delivered with great passion and his trademark smugness. We were assured repeatedly that our insurance policies would not be canceled because of the President’s healthcare overhaul.
But, like all liberal schemes, the quest toward utopia clashed with reality. And the results have been disastrous. This week NBC News, which is hardly a bastion of conservative journalism, pulled the curtain up off of Obamacare. They spoke to four sources deeply involved in implementing Obamacare, and were told “50 to 75 percent of the 14 million consumers who buy their insurance individually can expect to receive a ‘cancellation’ letter or the equivalent over the next year because their existing policies don’t meet the standards mandated by the new health care law. One expert predicts that number could reach as high as 80 percent.”
