Citizens United’s David Bossie Responds to State Departments 90 Day Extension in Release of Emails

Citizens United President David N. Bossie Statement:

The State Department failed to comply with Judge Sullivan’s order requiring them to release Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin’s emails by September 13th in response to Citizens United’s FOIA lawsuit. Having failed to meet their obligations, the State Department is now asking the Court to reward their poor performance by granting them a 90 day extension. This is yet another delay tactic designed to keep these records from becoming public. Today Citizens United filed our opposition to the State Department’s extension request. The public has a right to see these documents, period. For an administration that considers itself the most transparent the State Department’s response to Citizens United’s FOIA requests has proved it is anything but.
