Membership Poll: Grassroots Conservatives Voice Massive Support For Gowdy Committee, Special Counsel Appointment

Washington, D.C. — From October 16th to October 20th, Citizens United surveyed a cross-section of our members nationwide about the House Select Benghazi Committee’s work and whether or not Attorney General Loretta Lynch should appoint a special counsel to conduct an impartial investigation in the Hillary Clinton email case. Over 2,000 Citizens United members participated in the poll.

“The American people want the facts about the Benghazi terror attacks and Hillary Clinton’s email server to see the light of day,” said David N. Bossie, President of Citizens United. “Hillary Clinton and her cronies are politicizing the Gowdy Committee investigation just to distract from the important questions that are being asked,” Bossie continued.

“Regarding a special counsel, the facts are clear. Loretta Lynch has a conflict of interest as a former Clinton political appointee; and Barack Obama is clearly conflicted because he benefits politically if the FBI investigation goes away, as his recent 60 Minutes interview demonstrates. This investigation cannot be supervised by Democrat political appointees inside the White House and Justice Department,” Bossie concluded.
