While in China, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said he believes that North Korea is five years away from having the capability of striking the continental United States with a nuclear tipped missile. Gates’ revelation is unnerving; how did the Obama Administration only just come to this conclusion?

The North Korean regime is still in a pseudo state of war with South Korea and America. The Obama Administration must redouble its efforts on missile defense. Regimes like North Korea and Iran are craving weapons systems that can launch nuclear weapons at America and our allies. It is vital to American security that we remain vigilant to this threat. If not, we may suffer the unimaginable consequences of a nuclear strike on American soil.
