Obama Statements On 60 Minutes Confirm Need For Special Counsel In Clinton Email Case

Yesterday on 60 Minutes, President Obama declared that Hillary Clinton’s email discrepancies are all a big mistake and that our national security wasn’t compromised.

This is the latest and most compelling reason why this case requires an impartial special counsel to investigate.

When the President of the United States – who appoints the Attorney General – acts as judge and jury in a politically-charged case such as this, it should be crystal clear that the case needs to get out of the control of political appointees.

Attorney General Lynch must do what she knows it right and appoint a special counsel. Trust in government hangs in the balance.
