Obama Wants Amnesty

As President Obama gears up for his re-election fight, he was in Texas today promoting what amounts to amnesty for illegal immigrants. By granting amnesty, illegal immigrants will be able to cut in front of the line, while others going through the process legally get stuck in a quagmire of government bureaucracy. The reason President Obama is re-launching amnesty is because he cynically views it as a political win – he knows it has no chance of becoming law. What President Obama proposed today is just another political stunt to aid his $1 billion reelection campaign.

But President Obama was correct on one point – that the status quo is not working. America needs real immigration reform that will secure our borders once and for all.   Congress needs to get tough on illegal immigration. The rule of law should prevail. The Obama Administration should enforce the laws on the books instead of just looking the other way.
