Transparently Unaccountable
Two days ago on 60 Minutes, President Obama said, “I think, people want to see Washington work. And what they mean by Washington working: It’s transparent. It’s accountable.”
Today is the Administration’s first opportunity to follow through on that statement and prove that it will get Washington working again: Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to meet with Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board Chairman Earl Devaney. In the interest of accountability and transparency, the meeting is … closed press. Not to mess with Sheriff Joe, but in what definition of the terms “transparent” and “accountable” does a closed meeting fall under?
