Citizens United to Premiere Controversial Film “Fire from the Heartland”
Washington, DC – On the heels of the premiere of “America at Risk,” Citizens United Productions announced today that they will premiere a new film “Fire from the Heartland: The Awakening of the Conservative Woman” on Wednesday, September 22nd, in Washington, DC. The film, with an all-female cast, is the first to tell the story of the awakening of a new generation of women that are at the forefront of today’s re-born conservative movement.
“We are very excited about “Fire from the Heartland” and the chance to have this extraordinary cast tell the story of women’s role in the leadership of the conservative movement,” said David N. Bossie, President of Citizens United, and the film’s Producer.
“Fire from the Heartland” features a range of activists, politicians, and commentators such as Phyllis Schlafly, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, S.E. “From Phyllis Schlafly, Margaret Thatcher, Clare Boothe Luce, right up to Sarah Palin, and Michele Bachmann today, it really is stunning how much of the passion of the conservative movement comes from the women,” said conservative commentator Ann Coulter. “And, by the way, how much of the courage and the strength comes from women.”
“Fire from the Heartland” was written and directed by award-winning director Stephen K. Bannon (“ In the Face of Evil,” “Generation Zero”). The film is the second film in a series led by “Generation Zero ” that looks at America at a crossroads and the rise of the Tea Party movement.
“These women are extraordinary, and the awakening that is happening at every level of our society is astonishing. The story they have to tell about the grit, determination and love of country that underpins the Tea Party movement needed to be told,” said Mr. Bannon. “I’m proud that we let them tell it in their own words.”
Tracing the long history of the many conservative women who have been the backbone of this great nation, from the founding mothers of our Republic to today’s “Mama Grizzlies,” this powerful and compelling documentary honors the self-made American woman.
