Citizens United Productions Welcomes Lionsgate As A Potential Competitor In The Hillary Clinton Film Sweepstakes

Washington, DC – David N. Bossie, President of Citizens United Productions, today issued the following statement on the news that Lionsgate is in initial talks about developing Rodham a film that will focus on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the best light possible as she gears up for a potential 2016 presidential bid.

“I hope Lionsgate and Director James Ponsoldt from The Spectacular Now fame are able to work out a deal to exercise their First Amendment right and bring Rodham to the big screen,” said David N. Bossie, President of Citizens United Productions. “As producer of Hillary The Movie, my advice would be to not only focus on Hillary Clinton as a young DC lawyer in the 1970s, but also look into her career as a Little Rock lawyer at the Rose Law Firm in the 1980s, which you may recall enjoyed a great deal of media attention in the 1990s.”

Citizens United Productions, the country’s leading conservative filmmaker, is the production company behind “Hillary the Movie,” the film that brought about the landmark First Amendment Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission. In total, Citizens United has produced 23 highly regarded feature-length documentary films including “The Hope and The Change,” “Occupy Unmasked,” “Our Sacred Honor,” “Generation Zero,” “Fire from the Heartland,” and “America at Risk” as well as the award winning films “The Gift of Life” with Governor Mike Huckabee, “Perfect Valor,” with Senator Fred Thompson, and “Nine Days That Changed The World,” and “Ronald Reagan: Rendezvous With Destiny,” with Newt and Callista Gingrich.
