Obamacare Waivers For Me, But Not For Thee

Democrat and New York Congressman Anthony Weiner (who argued Obamacare did not go far enough and pushed for a public option, but now is one of the law’s biggest supporters) is looking into getting an Obamacare waiver for New York City. Rep. Weiner has even boasted, “A lot of people who got waivers were … people who are our friends.”

The Obama Administration has issued over 1000 waivers since Obamacare was signed into law. By handing out these waivers, the Obama Administration is picking winners and losers for a misguided law that will bankrupt states and the federal government. The winners have been the usual suspects of Democrat supporters like Labor unions who have received 26 percent of all the wavers granted so far. Ironically, unions were some of the biggest advocates for Obamacare.

The American people understand how corrupt and damaging Obamacare is – one year later they still oppose it by 59 percent.  Obamacare must first be fully defunded by this Congress, then repealed in 2013 by a new administration.
