Statement of Citizens United President David N. Bossie On Citizens United’s Opposition To FOIA Lawsuit Consolidation:

“Today Citizens United filed our opposition to the government’s motion to consolidate our FOIA lawsuits with nearly thirty other cases. The government’s request is little more than a stunt designed to delay the public release of Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills’ emails. The thirty lawsuits the government seeks to “coordinate” have no common issues of law or fact, and tying them together makes absolutely no sense.

What’s really at stake here is whether or not the public will be allowed to learn the true story of how Hillary Clinton operated Clinton Inc., within the State Department now, or at some unknown time, possibly after the 2016 election. It’s vital these records be made available to the public immediately. The government should not be allowed to withhold these documents from public inspection. The records we’ve requested are of tremendous public significance and we will fight the government’s attempts to stonewall and delay their release.”
